Values

When building a game, we inevitably face complex decisions—especially when different priorities are at odds. In these moments, our values act as a compass. By understanding and aligning on what we value most, we can resolve ambiguity faster, collaborate more effectively, and stay focused on what matters: creating a great game for our players.

At the heart of our development philosophy are a set of guiding values. These aren’t just ideals; they shape how we work, where we invest our energy, and how we navigate trade-offs. While we often value both sides of a choice, when tensions arise, we lean decisively in one direction:

  • Making a great game over financial gain

  • The player experience as a whole over any of its parts

  • Quality over efficiency

  • Iteration over documentation

  • Acting on learnings over following a plan

  • Principles over practices

Each of these values reflects a belief that long-term success comes from doing right by players, the team, and the game itself—even when that path is more difficult or less immediately profitable.

In the coming weeks, we’ll dive deeper into each of these values—why they matter, how they show up in our daily work, and how they help us navigate the creative chaos of game development.

Let’s go make a great game!
